You Will Need
* 1 lb. ground beef
* 2 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
* 1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
* 15 oz. ricotta cheese
* 1/4 c. parsley, chopped
* 1 egg, lightly beaten
* 26 oz. spaghetti sauce
* 12 lasagna noodles
* Skillet
* Mixing bowl
* 13" x 9" baking dish
* Aluminum foil
* Roasted vegetables
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit while you brown the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain, and return it to the skillet.
Make a vegetarian version by substituting roasted vegetables for the meat.
Step 2
Combine half the mozzarella cheese, half the parmesan cheese, and the ricotta cheese with parsley and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and set it aside.
Step 3
Add the spaghetti sauce to the meat in the skillet. Fill the empty sauce jar with a cup of water, replace the lid, and shake well. Pour the water into the meat mixture and stir.
Make the meat sauce in advance and store it in a closed container in the refrigerator.
Step 4
Cover the bottom of the baking dish with 1 cup meat sauce. Spread a layer of three noodles and one-third of the cheese mixture. Repeat this process for two more layers. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Step 5
Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil. Bake it for 45 minutes, and then remove the foil. Continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until heated through.
Step 6
Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it stand for 15 minutes. Cut into 12 squares, and serve.
